VQnC Makes her Stunning Debut at HSHP7

As promised, HipStory House Party 7 was lit. With our guest list filled to the brim and the stage overflowing with talent, it’s safe to say that #HHP7 was the place to be on Saturday night for ART Week Boston. From the up-tempo blues of The Sunset Kings to the soulful ballads of Makalani, the stage was scorching from the jump. The night was made even more special as HipStory’s very own VQnC made her musical debut opening up for hip-hop trailblazers Moe Pope and Arcitype aka STL GLD, who closed out the night.

Since joining the HipStory team in October, VQnC has been collaborating with Cliff Notez on the soundtrack for his short film Vitiligo and has also been working on a full length disco album, “Champagne Anemoia” set to release this fall.

Dripping in sequins, VQnC gave the audience the grooves that they not only deserved but the ones they needed. Accompanied by Fiona Wood on violin, Eric Selligman on trumpet, Tim Hall on saxophone, and backup vocals by Forte and Cliff Notez, VQnC performed tracks from both projects giving the audience a taste of her unique musical talent and genre-bending style. Opening with her first single “Miwabe”, VQnC delivered the hype with an upbeat song then progressing through a wide range of dance and disco, ending with the flagship Vitiligo track, “Emotion.” As the trumpet blared, VQnC’s finale had the crowd swaying their hands and singing the chorus in unison, leaving the crowd screaming for more. From the crisp production of Cliff Notez to the unique instrumentation, the vibe was high and VQnC’s performance was beyond transcendent.

Saturday was just the beginning for VQnC, as she’s got a lot in store for y’all this year. Be sure to keep up with her as she joins the HipStory team on their East Coast tour this summer. Rumor has it she has some music dropping soon so stay in the loop and stay lit y’all.
